A
To see how the ‘split brain’ worked compared to a normal brain

- 11 ppts who had their corpus callosum cut out were given visual and object tasks to see how they processed info

A
Ppts focused on dot in centre of screen and pictures and words would appear on either side

A
Ppts asked to identify unseen objects from touch alone

A
- Right visual field = no difficulty repeating words
- Left visual field = trouble saying what they had seen
- Could only identify each item in a pile with the hand that previously held them

A
Both hemis still work BUT can’t share memories b/c the corpus callosum had been cut
