SPECIES INTERACTION Flashcards
It is a symbiotic partnership that benefits both sides. This relationship can exist either within a species or between two species.
Both organisms are benefited and obligatory
MUTUALISM
one organism, the predator, kills and eats another organism, its prey. Predators are adapted and often highly specialized for hunting, with acute senses such as vision, hearing, or smell.
PREDATION
is a relationship between species, where one organism, the parasite, lives on or in another organism, the host, causing it some harm, and is adapted structurally to this way of life.
PARASITISM
is relationship between two organisms in which one benefits and the other derives neither benefit nor harm.
COMMENSALISM
When individuals of two separate species share a limiting resource in the same area.
If the resource cannot support both populations, then lowered fecundity, growth, or survival may result in at least one species.
COMPETITION
is a non-obligatory microbial interaction where mutualist and host are not metabolically dependent on each other.
PHOTOCOOPERATION
is a type of biological interaction where one species causes harm to another organism without any cost or benefits to itself.
AMENSALISM
any specie include all the attribute to animal lifestyle
