Sperm cell
The male sex cell and is used to fertilise the woman’s egg to form a baby.
Nerve Cell
Used to quickly send and receive electrical messages to and from the brain and the nervous system.
Small intestine cell
Used to make up the inner lining of the small intestine.
Red blood cell
Used to collect oxygen from the lungs and carry it around the body to cells so that it can be used for respiration.
Egg cell
The female sex cell and needs to be fertilised by the male sex cell (sperm) so that it can develop into a foetus ( a baby). Also contains the mothers genes to pass to the child.
Ciliated epithelial cell
Move mucus out of the body.
Root hair cell
It absorbs all the nutrients and water from the soil.
Xylem
Used to transport water and solute from roots to the leaves.
Palisade cell
Used to carry out photosynthesis through the plant.
