- Muscle Cell
What is the function of a sperm cell?
fertilises the egg cell in a woman
What is the function of an egg cell?
If fertilised: the structure of the membrane changes so no more sperm can enter
What is the function of a red blood cell?
carries oxygen and transports to organs
What is the function of a root hair cell?
absorbed water and minerals from the soil for plants to use
What is the function of a Ciliated Epithelium Cell?
cilia catch harmful bacteria before they can reach the lungs
What is the function of a Xylem Cell?
transport water from the roots to the leaves in the plants
What is the function of a Phloem Cells?
The cell walls between the cells form sieve plates which allow substances to move to where it is needed.
What is the function of a nerve cell?
carry electrical impulses around the body
What is the function of a muscle cell?
can store glycogen, mitochondria to release energy for the muscles to contract and relax.
