PSP
PSP are compulsory for all vessels except those under enrollment or engaged in coasting trade on west of USA/CANADA. Pilots can be order directly through PSP or port Angeles pilot station vhf ch 13
VTS
USCG is in charge of compliance, supervisions and enforcement of PSVTS

Apply to all navigable waters of the area and are enforced by the USCG
Customs
PA is a customs port of entry. Immigration, quarantine, customs, inspections and agriculture quarantine can be conducted. Arrangements for inspection should be made in advance generally through ships agent.
Logging
Logging is a major industry in the area. Mariners should keep a watch out for sinkers deadheads and floating logs
Log booming grounds
Extensive log booming grounds in the N and W part of the harbor that can extend more that 1nm from west shore. Care must be taken when anchoring especially at night to avoid rafter logs. Booming grounds are charted
Navy area
Navy advises that in the precautionary area 1nm radius centered 8.5nm NNE of ediz hook is used to conduct calibration tests. Surface vessels and or submerged submarines may be maneuvering in the area. When these operations are being conducted a lazy “T” bar displaying 1s FlY and 2s FlR and a spot light will be displayed from the E end of Ediz hook
Assist tugs
Are stationed in PA up to 1200hp. Tugs up to 5000hp are available from Seattle with notice.
Port of PA managers
Port of PA terminal mangers office is in port Angeles at the foot of cedar street. Harbor master controls moorings in the boat basin.
