A

What was significant about the Spartan women (compared to the Greek women)?
A
- Could go out without having to be accompanied with a male relative
- Could train with the men
- Education - economics, reading and writing

What were Spartan women seen as by the Greeks and other people during those times?
A
- Bad mothers, they sent their sons to the Agôgé at age 7
- Even though they were forbidden to wear jewellery, makeup or perfume, they were seen as the most beautiful women of the ancient times because of their healthy and fit bodies, as well as giving birth at a later, maturer age (20-28)
