According to Herodotus and Aristotle what changed did Lycurgus make?
Reforms of Spartan constitution, establishment of education system: agog, focus of developing military ethos.
Tradition says Lycurgus…
sought will of gods by consulting Delphic oracle (goddess of prophecy). He returned to Sparta & began changes that were very different to other greek states.
Why is Lycurgus an issue?
