Yes, Spartan women were citizen within society.
What were the duties of Spartan women?
To produce strong Spartan children, managed husbands land as well as their own, provided monthly food for the Syssition and paid their son’s agoge fees. They pride themselves on their intellectual culture.
What did the Helots do in the household?
They weaved and sewed because Spartan women didn’t do those sorts of chores.
What happened at the Agoge?
Boys are sent at the age of 7 and taught that family isn’t as important as the state.
If a woman’s son comes back from war and they lost, what would happen?
