Preterite tense
Past actions already completes with clear beginnings and endings.
Took place on a specific day or time.
Imperfecto tense
-To speak about past actions that were habitual or happened over a period of time.
- Past dates, times, ages, conditions, and feelings.
-For giving descriptions or telling stories
- Past actions that were interrupted by something else
Pasado progresivo
To speak about a continuous action that took place in the past within the more recent timeframe.
(-ing, tense = I was working)
Presente perfecto
Past actions that are still connected to the present or probably still happening.
Past perfect
An action that took place before something else happened in the past
