In july 1588, the Spanish reached the English channel
English ships set sail from Plymouth to meet the armarda
It used big galleons to protect the weaker ships
In the middle of the night the English sent right fire ships which caused the Spanish to panic and break formation
The English moved in and sunk lots of Spanish ships and the rest forced to set sail
Medina Sidonia decided to called off the attack

The Spanish troops were not familiar of the route down Scotland and Ireland, unaware of the Atlantic storm and 16,000 died
