A

Priorat is mainly composed of Licorella soils of which are made up of slate, and black quartz. They have excellent drainage which requires the vine to dig deep for water. The licorella soils help retain heat and radiate it back to the vine.

The region is characterized by its steep slopes of which struggle to achieve small yields.
