Planet
A celestial body that is in the form of a sphere, orbits a sun, and is big enough to clear objects from it’s orbit
Star
A large celestial body that fuses hydrogen into helium
Meteor
A chunk of rock from space that is inside of Earth’s atmosphere but has not hit the surface
Meteoroid
A chunk of rock orbiting the sun broken off of an asteroid
Black Hole
An object caused by a very massive star’s death with gravity so strong that not even light can escape
Dwarf Planet
A celestial body that doesn’t follow at least one of the three rules to be a planet
Nebula
A gigantic cloud of gas and dust where new stars are born
Red Dwarf
The smallest type of star, barely big enough to fuse hydrogen into helium
Yellow Dwarf
A medium sized star, our sun
Blue Dwarf
The stage after a red dwarf after it has used much of it’s hydrogen supply
Blue Giant
A very hot star in it’s giant stage
Red giant
The giant phase of some stars (including our sun in 4 billion years)
Meteorite
A chunk of rock from space that has hit Earth’s surface
Comet
A small celestial body made of ice, rock, and frozen gas
