What is Newton’s first law?
A moving object will stay at the same velocity unless an external force acts upon it or a stationary object will remain at rest unless an external force acts upon it
What is important when looking at how the velocity of an object changes?
The overall resultant force
What will happen to the velocity of an object when balanced forces act upon it?
It will not change
What will unbalanced forces cause the velocity to do?
Change
An objects velocity is constantly changing but the speed is constant, why?
They are travelling in a circle
What is the centripetal force?
Resultant force that causes a change in direction
Where does the centripetal force act towards?
The center of the circle
What are types of force that make objects move in circular paths?
Tension e.g. in wires, gravity and friction
