southhampton questions Flashcards
why medicine in southhampton
What drew me to Southhampton is the fact that students have very early clinical access and contact with patients. This is incredibly important because it means that students learn how multidisciplinary teams work which they can later apply to their own practice once they become doctors and develop their own clinical skills.
Furthermore, the learning structured around topics has some features in common with problem-based learning. Problem-based learning involves both independent and group-based learning.
What drew me to Southhampton medical school is that not only does it focus on the quality of teaching but it also encourages the students to pursue research e.g. in the third year, you we can carry out an in-depth research study
In the 2014 REF, 75% of the Faculty’s research was rated as either internationally recognised or world class. 94% of our research was deemed 3 or 4* for impact.
