- Staff talks between the three wings of armed forces,
- Mutual logistic support,
- Regular exercises.

Previously it was for Atlantic Ocean as the Atlantic Ocean has both USA ans EU, but now it got shifted to Indo-pacific region. (for global diplomacy and geo-politics)

1. Crash of Soviet Union
2. EU economies got stagnated
3. Rise of Asian powers (india, china, japan, South Korea).
India adopted look east why and when
Look east was implemented by 1991 Narasimha raO govt
Reasons:
Diversify the India diplomatic relations and new investments which could power India’s economic growth.
As USSR breakdown and EU economic stagnation made challenge for India’s economic rise.
Objective was to find new diplomatic partners and markets where Indian products could be sold,new investments which could promote India economic development.

what happen to india look east now
India look east got converted to ACT EAST by 2014 new govt.
With act east we can have greater economic and military relations with South East and EAst Asian Countries.
Unlike look east only fro Economic, act east is for both economic and defence and military relations,
Greater focus on connectivity and soft power initiatives as well.
Rise of Indo-pacific made what ?
- It increased tension between India and china.
2. China’s conflicts with other southeast Asian countries increased over the maritime disputes in south china seas.
ACT EAST POLICY OF INDIAN NAVY

Naval exercises with like minded countries such as Australia, japan, New Zealand , South Korea etc.
Focus on pacific islands —> by establishing a dedicated form between india and pacific islands
LOOK EAST- ACT EAST POLICY IS based on three pillars what are they
- India wants to ensure that ASEAN countries at the centre of any Indo-pacific policy
- To promote inclusive approach in Indo-pacific region.
- To promote openness and to reduce conflicts in the Indo pacific region
In order to promote these 3 pillars India was thinking to promote the adoption of rules based order for a FOIP - FREE AND OPEN INDO PACIFIC (means any disputes such be handled as per international law)
