A source usually from later than the time of the event and based on another source

A source from the time you are studying and not based on another source

What do you need to look for when using a source?
A
Who has, made, written or said what your are studying. Do you know anything about the person/people who made/produced it?
Why was the piece of evidence produced? Could it have been produced to tell a story, spread a message etc?
When the pice of evidence was produced?
What else was happening at the time?
