When must the PIC be PF?
(SOPs 2.1.5)
- Unless command training is being carried out, the PIC is to be PF when:
- On take-off the visibilty is less than 800m
- On approach when the visibility is less than 1000m
When must Full safety harness be worn?
(SOPs 2.1.9)
- During T/O
- 5mins prior to landing
- During an approach for landing
- When the aircraft is less than 1000ft AGL
- During turbulence or when its expected
- In an Emergency
- When taxiing
- When one pilot leaves their seat in flight.
When should supplemental oxygen be continuously usedby crew?
(SOPs 2.1.9)
- Whenever the cabin altitude exceeds 10,000ft
- Can a circuit-breaker (CB) be reset
- If so, when? Any conditions?

In Flight: Yes, but it is not recommended unless, in the judgement of the Captain, the situation resulting from the CB trip has a significant adverse effect on safety. (e.g. Wx radar on a stormy day)
- Allow a short cooling period of approx 2mins before resetting
DO NOT: Resetting any fuel pump or fuel pump control CB is prohibited
- Ground: A ground reset of a tripped CB by flight crew should only be accomplished after consulting Engineering
- Flight crew must raise a Tech Log anytime they reset a CB.
Can serviceable equipment be deliberately shutdown by opening a CB?

- No it is not permitted, unless its required by a checklist procedure.
- CB collar colour codes
- Blue
- Red
- Orange cap
(SOP 2.1.10)
- Blue: To be pulled by flight crew during a checklist procdure

Red: Identifies a CB that is pulled due to the system being deactivated either permanently or long term
- There is no need to record in the aircraft log (Notice to crew or Tech log) if a system has been deactivated and the CB identified with a red lockout collar

Orange Cap: Has been pulled for maintenance only and should be removed before flight
- This clip is used together with a REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT warning tag.
When must the position lights be on?
(SOPs 2.1.11)
- The position lights must be ON for all operations
When must the Anti-collision light/Beacon be on?
(SOPs 2.1.11)
- It must be turned on prior to any aircraft movement
- Including pushback or towing
- Prior to any engine start or motoring cycle; OR
- Any other time as a warning not to approach the aircraft
When must the Taxi light be on?
(SOPs 2.1.11)
- Must be on whenever the aircraft is taxiing except when being marshalled
When must the Landing lights be on?
(SOPs 2.1.11)
- Its compulsory for the lights to be on below 10,000ft AMSL
- They can be turned off in unusual weather conditions (Fog) or under ops outlined in the FCOM or MEL
When must the Logo lights be on?
(SOPs 2.1.11)
- If fitted, should be on for all night operations
Severe Weather Operations
Company aircraft shall not take off or land when any of the following adverse weather conditions exist in the vicinity of the airport and cannot be avoided.
- Windshear: Of a severity that, if encounted, would exceed the performance capability of the aircraft type
- Heavy Thunderstorm Activity
- Severe Frontal Condtitions
- Line-Squall Conditions
