Solving a 3x3 cube Flashcards
This deck will walk the user through the primary algorithms needed to solve a 3x3 cube.
How do you solve the white cross?
(Typcially the first step in the process)
- The yellow center needs to be up and the blue center should be facing you.
- Then turn all the white edge pieces to the top.
- Next, rotate the top layer until all of its edge pieces and the center piece are the same color
- Then rotate the side facing you to solve the blue and white edge
- Finally, rotae the top layer to make the side (facet?) to be the same color and then turn one layer on the side (facet?) to solve the red and white edges.
What is the goal in solving the first layer?
(this happens after solving the white cross)
Solving the first layer is to solve the four corner pieces on the bottom.
When solving the first layer, if your cube looks like this (insert image, case 1), how do you proceed?
Algorthm 1: RUR’U’
You would rotate the top layer to turn the blue-red-white to the dark gray positions + repeat this algorithm.
If your cube looks like this (insert image) how would you proceed to solve the first layer?
Need help writing this
After the white cross and the first layer are solved, how do you solve the four edge pieces in the middle layer if your cube looks like this:
Algorthim 2:
RUUR’URUUR’UF’U’F’
Rotate the top layer until it looks like this (add image case 2) or this (add image case 3)
If you are solving the four edge pieces in the middle layer and your cube looks like this (insert pic of case 2), which algorithm do you use?
Algorithm 3:
URU’R’U’F’U’F’
If you are solving the four edge pieces in the middle layer and your cube looks like this (case 3 image), which algorithm do you use?
Algorithm 4:
R’U’R’U’R’URUR
