Solubility Flashcards
1
Q
Ionic product:
A
The ionic product of a salt is the product of the molar concentrations of the constituent ions in the solution raised to the appropriate powers
2
Q
Solubility :
A
Solubility of a salt is the maximum amount (moles/mass) of solute (salt) that can be dissolved in 1 dm3 of a solvent (water) to form a saturated solution at a fixed temperature.
3
Q
Ksp: Solubility product
A
Solubility product, Ksp, of a sparingly soluble salt is the product of the
concentration of the constituent ions (in mol dm−3) in a saturated solution,
raised to the appropriate powers at a given temperature.
