Solids, Liquids and Gases Flashcards
To Identify And Understand What Solids, Liquids and Gases Are
What is a Solid?
A solid is something that has a fixed shape such as cheese if untouched it’s particles are moving extremely slowly and are all connected to one another.
What is a Liquid?
A Liquid is something that can move and deform into anything that it is moulded into it’s particles are sometimes connected and they are moving at a reasonable pace.
What is a Gas?
A Gas is something like steam which can like a liquid form into anything as it hasn’t got many particles and all of those particles are moving extremely quickly.
What is it called when a Solid turns into a Gas?
it is called Sublimation.
What is it called when a Gas is turned into a Solid?
It is called Deposition.
What is it called when a Solid is turned into a Liquid?
It is called Melting.
What is it called when a Liquid is turned into a Solid.
It is called Freezing.
What is it called when a Liquid is turned into a Gas?
It is called Boiling / Evaporation.
What is it called when Gas is turned into a Liquid?
It is called Condensation?
