Why did the polish people with for Solidarity?
Because soviet rule was very unpopular.

They whent on strick and help protests.

WHat was the effect of the striks?
a right to form a uniton free from goverment controle was accespted and solidarity was formed.
Why were the damands given in on by the polish govermnet?
They were scared of a general strike. It would effect the econimy further and becasue the strikes were being held in high industrial areas they through it would have high econmomic consequences.
They wanted popularity, 80% of the Polish workers were part of the movement and Walsea was seen as a hero to the people.
They were convinced by the support of the catholic church. There was a large amount of faith and most of the people also wanted solidarity.
How did the movment of solidarity gain its support?
Through media and popularity of and charisma of Walesa.
Why was action taken aganist solidarity?
The new primemisnster belived they were planning a coup.
The new leader wished for full communist control again.
what actions were taken to stop solidarity?
Leaders like Walsea were put into prison.

The red army was ordered to train on polish border as an act of intimidation.
