Hadeeth Musalsal
hadith narrated in a particular way by every narrator
1.verbal manner
2. trend thats physically done
3. physical qualities
HUKUM: the actual hadeeth is acceptable but the musalsal part is not always passed down
two types of mutawatir
Al- Lafathi= exact words passed down large group
Al-Ma3nwai= words have not been passed down, but the general idea is
Garib, Aziz, Mashhur
Garib= only narrated by one individual
Aziz= 2 or 3 narrated per generation
Mashhur= more than 3 narrated per generation
Hadeeth mursal
a narrator is chopped off from the end of the chain; sahabi is missing
Al Mutawatir
not fixated on a certain #; such a large group that it’s impossible to assume they produced a lie
Hadeeth mu3allaq and Hukums
tail end of the chain has been drooped (break at top of chain) so you dropped your sheikh
Hukum: since you don’t know who’s missing drop it
hadeeth munqati3(2 defintions) and Hukums
- Hadeeth has break in chain. but it’s not at the very beginning or the very end, no back to back breaks
Hukum: not accepted at all - no break in chain, however it may be considered munqati3
Hukum: depends where the break is in the chain
Hadeeth Mu3dal and Hukum?
There are consecutive breaks in the chain
Hukum: not accepted at all
Tadlees: two TYPES
- Tadless ul-Isnaad= narrator who’s narrating from sheikh uses words like A3n and An
- so they skip their own sheikh, they do this because their sheikh is younger than them - Tadlees ul-Shuyookh=narrator describes his sheikh’s character/characteristics in. way that they’re not known
-So they disguise them; bc 1. taking from weak narrator 2. taking from someone who’s younger than you 3. to give false impression that you’re narrating hadeeth from multiple people
Mudallis and Hukum
one who does tadlees
Hukum: any hadeeth he narrated from his own sheikh using words like An and 3n will be checked
Hadeeth munkar
headeeth where an unreliable narrator goes against a group of narrators or a more reliable narrator
Difference between hadith munkar/shaadth
Shaadth is weaker hadith that’s not being accepted
Munkar is hadeeth that’s not being accepted
Mutaab3an (two types)
Tama- backup is in your generation
Qaasirah- backup is at generation of sheikh and anyone above
Hadeeth mu3alal
Hadeeth with a hidden defect that’s very hard to find out
Hadeeth Mutarab(hukum)
Hadeeth with certain narration whose chain/math has been narrated in multiple reconcilbe ways
Hukum: cannot use unless it can be reconciled
