Socrates was a great teacher in the western world, and he was famous for his curiosity and questioning big life ideas
Socrates never wrote anything like Jesus
Why was Socrates on trial?
Socrates went in trial because he faced charges of impiety,
he was charged with needless curiosity
making weak questions stronger and teaching others to do the same
corrputing the youth and not acknowledging the gods of the city
what groups was socrates assocaited with?
presocatics: natural scientinsts who sought scienteific answeres instead of relying on myths (denying the gods)
Sophists: social scientists who believed that persuatsion of the highest art
Socrates denied
that he sorrupte th youth, that he taught people for money unlike the sophists thereof he distances himself from these groups in his defence
