Walklate (2006) - female domestic violence
victims are very likely to have suffered repeat victimisation, unlikely to report abuse and unable to leave due to lack of confidence, financial dependence, having nowhere to go and children being involved

Walklate (2004), - rape trials and victims
Argues in the case of rape trials, it is often the character of the female victim that is on trial (e.g. was she dressed provocatively or drunk?) and not the male rapist. She argues in the majority of alleged rape cases the male is often found not guilty or prosecuted.
Dobash - Domestic violence and police
A study on domestic violence by Dobash and Dobash (1979), found police officers were ‘very unlikely’ to make an arrest when the male offender had used violence against his wife, viewing this as a domestic dispute.
