What is anarchy?
It is a society with not government. It is usually described as chaos or a utopia but to others it’s described as a free system. The government is only there to immense on liberties. It was created by Karl Marx, the founder of communism.
Ex: Soviet Union- Ukraine
What is communism?
It is a society with complete equality. Communism is a stateless society where there is economic equality. Karl Marx envisioned communism as a classless and stateless society. It’s believed that if everyone owned everything then everyone has the same economic equality.
Ex: Russia
What is socialism?
Socialism is a system of social ownership of the economy. Some consider the same since socialism is a necessary stage before pure communism. State ownership means that all citizens share equal ownership.
Ex: The Soviet Union (ussr) Russia
What is democracy?
It is a rule of the people. In Greek democracy literally means ‘people rule’. The key element to a democracy is that citizens can directly participate in government through their voting rights.
Ex: Switzerland political system
What is a republic?
Public officials represent the people. A republic is a type of democracy called a representative democracy. They are less likely to support laws that border socialism or seek to promote economic equality, such as raising taxes, government aid, etc.
Ex: The u.s constitution
What is monarchy?
Rule by one sovereign individual. The concept of a monarchy is very ancient, and even biblical. A monarch may go by a variety of titles, but all are under the banner of “monarch “.
Ex: Most Disney movies
What is fascism?
Authoritarian, nationalist, and militaristic regime- facists have been characterized by having authoritarian leadership and a controlling state of government. It is similar to a monarch because of a single leader although the leader is typically charismatic or cult-like.
Ex: Benito Mussolini’s faschist regime
What is nazism?
Militaristic, Authoritarian national socialism. Nazism comes from the German political party called the national socialists and is usually defined as a specific type of facism. Nazis considered themselves to be an alternative to Marxist socialism.
Ex: Hitlers nazi party
What system of government does Canada practice?
Canada is constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy. Constitutional monarchy is a system of government in which a “monarch” shares power with a constitutionally organized government.
Ex: Canada , Belgium, Cambodia.
What could the current Canadian federal government do to improve the lives of Canadians?
The government could lower taxes and prices of everything since it all got raised. The government should also improve the healthcare system so we have more nurses and doctors and less time stuck waiting.
