what is socialisation?
A
Is the process of by which an individual learns the norms and values of society.

Primary socialisation
A
The early years of life (ages 0-5) are very important in the learning process. Usually times we learn from basic contact with family, teaching us key norms and values. Without it we end up like children like Oxana and Genie.

Secondary socialisation
A
norms and values from Primary socialisation are adapted by peers (friends etc) so people learn about acceptable behaviour from peers, so they can ‘fit in’.
