Legalism - Valued government more important than people. Government needs to control by strict laws as humans are selfish and greedy.
Buddhism - Valued enlightenment, to be fully aware to reality and seeing the light of truth. Meditation could help people free their concerns of the physical world.
What are the main beliefs of Hindus?
They believe in Dharma - duty or way of life. This is central to Hindu belief. Hindus worship 3 main gods:
1) Brahma the creator
2) Vishnu the preserver
3) Shiva the destroyer
What are the key features of the Han golden age?
The first emperor of the Han dynasty was Gaozu and began around the same time as the Roman Empire.
Han dynasty was a period of peace, stability and prosperity.
What are the key features of Tang golden age?
Arose in China in 618AD when former official overthrew government and took over.
Tang government ruled for over 300 years.
Power and force used to rule
Strong military strength
Freedom of movement - Goods, trade routes
Diversity of people
Enriched Chinese culture.
What was the silk road and what goods traveled to and from China along the Silk Road?
The Silk Road was a trade network that linked China to Europe and beyond. Soldiers, merchants and explorers would travel this road to trade silk, spice, jade and other valuables.
Why was the Silk Road significant to China? To Rome, To Europe?
Because it allowed them to bring new goods, ideas and wealth to into their country.
