What was the Social Gospel movement
Attempted to apply Christian values to the collective society (ex: issues of social justice such as economic inequality, poverty, alcoholism, etc)
What was the temperance movement, and what did it lead to
-social and political campaign which advocated total absatince from alcohol as they viewed it as the root of all problems in society (ex: family issues as a resolute of “drunkness” led to poor quality of life)
-led to a temporary prohibition of alcohol removed
-created a drinking age and laws to protect against the effects of alcohol
What was the Women’s Labour Leauge:
-promote the political representation of women in parliament and local bodies
-emerged before WW1
-looked to protect the rights of women workers
