Social Learning Theory Flashcards
What is the difference between Behaviourism and SLT?
SLT considers why we are motivated through mediation factors.
What is the social learning process?
Observation then vicarious Reinforcement then the mediation process. Then sometimes imitation which leads to direct reinforcement.
What is attention?
How much we focus
What is retention?
How well we remember
What is Motor Reproduction?
How well the observer can perform behaviour
What is Motivation?
The likeilhood of gaining a reward
What are the strengths of the SLT?
1- evidence to support. EG BOBO doll.
2-Practical Applications such as media violence.
What are the weaknesses of the SLT?
1- it ignores biology e.g. gender
2-difficult to measure the mediation processes.
What was the bobo doll study?
Measuring the children when they see an adult hit a doll how they react. 2 different study one showed imitation and observation the other showed vicarious reinforcement.
