Cause and Effect
A relationship between events in which one event, the event, is caused by another event.
Stranger Anxiety
A fear of unfamiliar people, usually expressed by crying.
Solitary Play
When a child is playing alone.

When children play near, but not actually with other children

Children play and interact with one another.
Imaginary Friends
Used by children to examine their own thoughts and feelings; may be used to share their feelings about something or work through negative feelings.

Independence; warning to be able to do things for themselves.

Someone close to ones age.

The process of learning to base ones behavior on beliefs about what is right and wrong.

The process of learning to get along with others.

Belief in ones own abilities.

The way parents and other caregivers care for & discipline children.
Guidance
Using firmness and understanding to help children learn how to brave.
Self-discipline
The ability of children to control their own behavior.
Positive Reinforcement
A response that encourages a particular behavior.
