Norms
A norm is a common or expected form of behaviour
Values
Values are the general principles of beliefs, which the majority of society believes in
Culture
Culture is learned by observing or imitating others
Subculture
A cultural group within a large culture, often having beliefs / interests at variance with the larger culture
Identity
Identity refers to our ‘sense of self’, which includes our subjective feelings, how we see ourselves and how we are judged
Status
Can be held by an individual or group. Is often associated with prestige, honour & social standing
Roles
A role is a pattern of behaviour, routines or responses acted out in everyday life
Internalised
An individuals acceptance of a set of norms and values
Cultural diversity
Cultures vary across the world and change over time
