Q

give examples of social change through ASCH’s research

A

Importance of DISSENT, where confederate gave RIGHT answers throughout the whole procedure which BROKE the power of majority encouraging others to also DISSENT.

This has the potential to lead to social change. E.g. Environmental or health campaigns EXPLOIT conformity processes by appealing to NSI e.g. provide info about what OTHER people are doing e.g. “Other people do it.”

So social change is ENCOURAGED by drawing attention to what the majority are DOING.
