What are the 7 send-off (red card) offenses?
Serious foul play (excessive force), Violent conduct, spitting, DOGSO-F, DOGSO-H, Foul/abusive language, 2 cautions
What are the 7 cautionable offenses?
Unsporting behavior, dissent, persistent infringement, delaying restart (outside of play), failure to respect required distance, entering w/o permission, leaving w/o permission
Which fouls result in a direct free kick?
Tripping, kicking, jumping at, pushing, striking, charging, tackling; all contact fouls are either careless, reckless (w/caution), or excessive (w/send-off)
Also holding, handling, spitting
Which fouls result in an indirect free kick?
Playing in a dangerous manner, impeding opponent, preventing GK from releasing ball, misconduct (not DFK foul)
GK in PA: handling when kicked directly from team mate, handling from team mate’s throw-in, releasing from hands then handling, holding ball more than 6 seconds
What are the requirements for a direct free kick to be given?
Committed by player, foul against opposing player, ball in play, occurs on field
What are the requirements for an indirect free kick to be given?
Committed by player (not sub or coach), ball in play
When is a team allowed to substitute?
Your team’s throw-in
Opponents throw-in (if they are also subbing)
Goal kick
After goal
Prior to start of period of play
Non-traditional stoppages (injury)
NOTE: small sided matches (U12 and below) may substitute at ANY stoppage!

What are the 5 requirements of a legal throw-in?
1) Ball within 1 yard of where it left the field
2) Thrower must face field
3) Both feet in contact with or outside touch line (NOT over)
4) Thrower must use both hands
5) Ball delivered from behind and over head
