When is a telemetry call required?
- For all time sensitive or life threatening condition transports.
- For any medical emergency in which the EMS provider’s judgement suggests consultation with a telemetry physician is necessary.
- For all trauma patients going to a trauma center.
- When telemetry contact is required per protocol.
What are the rules of a DNR/POLST?
The documents must be presented upon arrival and have the proper signatures. If they are valid, you are required by law to abide by it. If it cannot be presented or is not valid, you are to begin resuscitation.
When must a Patient Care Report (PCR) be completed?
If a patient meets any of these three categories.
1. A complaint or mechanism suggestive of illness or injury.
2. Obvious evidence of illness or injury.
3. An individual or 2nd/3rd party caller requests evaluation for potential illness or injury.
During interfacility Transport, if the patient is receiving a type of care beyond your scope, the sending facility must send someone with you. True or False?

What are the 5 presumptive signs of death?
- Unresponsiveness
- Apnea
- Pulselessness
- Fixed, Dilated Pupils
- For non-traumatic arrest, Asystole in at least 2 leads or a “No Shock Advised” from an AED.
What are the conclusive signs of death?
- Dependent Lividity
- Rigor Mortis
What is required to determine someone dead from presumptive and conclusive signs?
All 5 presumptive signs of death, and 1 conclusive sign.
What are the vital signs and criteria for Approved Public Intoxication destinations?
- PT can stand with minimal assistance of 1 or 2 people.
- Blood pressure Systolic 90-180/ Diastolic 60-100.
- HR 60-100
- RR 12-22
- Blood glucose between 60-250
- GCS greater than or equal to 14
- SPO2 >94% or 90% for smokers
- No acute medical complications
- No signs of trauma
- No suspected head injury
