Nicotine is a relatively harmless drug found in tobacco smoke. It provides a sense of calm, well-being, and ‘being able to cope’.

A poisonous gas found in tobacco smoke
What does CO do?
It takes up some of the oxygen-carrying capacity in your blood.
What percentage of your blood will shorten the capacity? What will this do to a smoker?
10% of your blood will be carrying CO and it will make a smoker much more breathless when they exercise than a non-smoker
What can happen to a fetus if their pregnant mother smokes?
They can be born prematurely, a lightweight and even stillborn
