What must happen to activate the Fire Warning System?
A
- Both paired loops in a section must sense heat;
- If 1 loop is inoperative, the remainder loop will activate the FIRE Warning.

- Smoke Detectors;
- BTL 1 can be discharged into the baggage compartment.

A
- The respective L/R ENG FIRE PBA illuminates;
- Red L/R ENG FIRE CAS message displays;
- FIRE icon in the N1 gauge;
- Aural Warning voice message, Left (Right) Engine Fire;
- Master Warning PBA flashes Red on the glareshield.

What 6 events occur when the L/R ENG FIRE PBA is pressed?
A
- Firewall Fuel Shutoff Valve closes;
- Hydraulic SOV closes;
- Engine PRSOV closes;
- Generator is taken offline;
- Ignition is disabled;
- BTL 1 & BTL 2 PBAs illuminate green AVAIL to indicate Armed.

Does pressing the ENG FIRE PBA command an immediate Engine Shutdown?
A
- NO. The FIRE PBA closes the Fuel feed SOV at the firewall. Engine will run a few sec to empty the line.
- Immediate Shutdown is via the ENGINE RUN switch per the checklist
- Note: The ENGINE RUN switch closes the HPSOV in the fuel metering unit.

What 5 events occur when APU FIRE PBA is pressed?
A
- APU Firewall Fuel SOV closes;
- APU Fuel Control Unit shuts off the fuel;
- APU Bleed Control Valve (BCV) is closed;
- APU Generator is taken offline;
- BTL 2 PBA illuminates green AVAIL to indicate Armed.

If an APU Fire is detected on the Ground, what’s the automatic shutdown/extinguishing sequence events?
A
- APU FIRE Warning Horn sounds outside the airplane;
- APU BCV closes
- FIDEEX triggers APU Shutdown;
- Within 10 seconds of detection, BTL 2 discharges.
NOTE: The APU may be left unattended.
- Within 10 seconds of detection, BTL 2 discharges.
