Aim:
Test effectiveness of a training programme for baseball coaches working with kids (compared trained to untrained coaches)

34 male Little League baseball coaches from Seattle area

- players were interviewed into their thoughts of their coach
(16 trained undergraduates observed and carried these out)
Results:
No significant difference observed between coaches data of previous years
What were the coaches who had the training more likely to do?
More likely to reinforce behaviour and encouragement following mistakes
What did they find out about experimental group?
That players were more likely to say they liked their coaches and wanted to play with them next year (if they had the training )
Conclusions:
Big impact on coaches behaviours towards players and that these impacts affect players self-esteem
