SMCP: Qual o propósito do SMCP?
O SMCP foi compilado com o propósito de assistir a segurança da navegação, padronizar a linguagem nas comunicações para tripulações e profissionais de diversos idiomas e para assistir instituições marítimas de treinamento a atingir os objetivos acima.
O SMCP deve ser usado com frequência e preferencialmente a outras palavras com sentido similar.

SMCP: Como está dividido o SMCP?
- Part A: External Communication Phrases (replacement of Standard Marine Navigational Vocabulary)
- Part B: On-board Communication Phrases (supplementary to Part A)
PART A - indispensable part of any curriculum which is designed to meet the corresponding requirements of the STCW Convention.
PART B - Offers a rich choice of situations covered by phrases weel suited to meet the communication requirements of the STCW Convention.
