Functions of the Small Intestine Channel of Hand Taiyang
- distributes Qi to the face and head; it connects and assists in the functioning of the ears and eyes
- it distributes and regulates Qi along the channel pathway

- it regulates the function of the intestines and promotes the absorption of fluids and nutrients

Pathology: Channel
- pain and stiffness along the channel pathway: pain, swelling, hot or cold sensations along channel
- exterior syndromes: aversion to cold, fever, sweating or absence of sweat, general aching, headache
- heat syndromes: febrile diseases, fever, night sweating, yellow urination
Pathology: Organ
- disorders of the Body Fluids: yellow urination, retention of urine, edema
- disorders of digestion: diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, abdominal pain, and distention
- disorders of Lower Jiao: distending pain in the lower abdomen
