WUCOMS of a dry chem fire ext?
W- Dry chem fire ext (OS centre mk5, OS1 heavy)
U- Class C, A B and E fires
C- Welded steel cylinder, 9kg of dry chem powder, pressurized with nitrogen, valve aseemble with squeeze handle and pressure gauge, connected to internal pick up tube
locking pin and tamper proof seal, delivery hose
O- operate in upright position, PASS- pull aim squeeze sweep. 3-4m throw 10-20 secs duration
M- Visual inspection prior to shift, inspect seal and pin. Send for exchange after use
S- Wear PPE, dangerous if used in confined space
WUCOMS for foam ext?
W- foam ext OS centre/ Os1
U- Class F, B and A fires
C-Stainles steel cylinder, 8.4 L of water + 600mm of AFFF conc, pressurised to 700Kpa, valve assemble with squeeze handle + pressure gauge, locking pin + tamper proof seal, delivery hose with aspirating branch
O- Use in upright position, PASS (pull aim squeeze sweep) 5 m throw, 45 sec duration
M- Visual inspection, check pin and seal
S- can make floor slippery, PPE
WUCOMS- Co2 extinguisher?
W- co2 ext- OS center/OS 1
U- Class A, B and E fires
C- Drawn steel cylinder, co2 gas in liquid form, valve assemble/ squeeze handle, locking pin/tamper proof seal, delivery hose w non conductive horn, safety valve
O- Operate in upright position, PASS (pull aim squeeze sweep) 1-2 m stream- 15 sec duratin
M- Visual inspecition, check locking pin + tamper proof seal
S- Wear PPE, dangerous in confined space

water ext (OSc/OS1)
U- Class A fires
C- Stainless steel cylinder, 9L of water, pressurised to 700kpa , valve assemble w squeeze handle / pressure gauge, locking pin/tamper proof seal, delivery hose
O- Operate in upright position, PASS pull aim squeeze sweep, 6m thow, 1 min duration
M- Visual inspection, check locking pin/tamper proof seal
S- Wear PPE, have 2nd ext ready
Ceiling hook WUCOMS?
W- Ceiling hook - ns 1/os1
U- Break windows for entry, remove overhead plaster ceilings/debris
C- Wooden handle and metal spur, bevelled edge for cutting, wide flat edge for pulling
O- When using on ceiling : windows
-stand to the side -stand to the side
-pierce with point -break glass
-pull with the flat edge -“breaking glass”
-clear all broken
glass
M-Clean with a damp cloth, check handle and spur for cracks, check spur is secure
S-PPC+ ppe - be aware of falling debris, broken glass, hemet on with visor down
FUSE puller? WUCOMS
W- Fuse puller ns1/ r2
U-disconnect powersupply to a structure
C-fiberglass telescopic pole with universal end
1.55-5.05m, 4 sections that auto lock, low voltage- pigtail and hookend pieces
O-Don PPE (helmet and visor down), turn power off at main switch, attach correct end and extend length, lightly tap side of fuse holder, insert/hook fuse puller end , look away and pull fuse, Place in meter box. Tape x on meter box
m- clean with silicone fabric cloth, check hand for cracks and damage, check quick release pins
s- always look away when pulling fuses, never re-install fuses,electrical gloves and helmet on with visor down
Crowbar, pinchbar, prybar- WUCOMS
W- Crowbar- ns1/os1
U- Prying heavy objects, opening doors, windows, locks, removing nails, gaining access
C- Heavy steel. Crowbar- levering toe + flat end
Pry bar-=flat and curved end
Pinch bar= claw and chiseled ends
O- Place bar between 2 objects
- leverage bar to move object
-use chock to generate more leverage
-place claw end under nail, use leverage to remove nail
M- clean with a damp cloth. check for burrs
S- ppc and PPE, work in a clear space
forcible entry tool- WUCOMS
W- forcible entry tool/ NS rear lower
U- spread, cut and squeeze vehicle bonnets/boots
C-lightweight metal construction, spreading arms, 28v lithium ion battery, deadmans handle, hydraulic operation core, alloy carring handle
O-Establish a clear working area and ensure you have stable footing, slide battery pack in, press on switch for green light.
-rotate handle right to spread, rotate handle left to cut
M-recharge batteries as req, check spreading tips and cutting edges for damage
- clean with a soft damp cloth
-visual inspection
S- don PPE (helmet and visor down)
- Keep hands/fingers clear
-check deadmans handle is functioning
-avoid twisting the tool
LWG/Gaam STANDPIPE- WUCOMS
W- LWG standpipe- ns rear/os pump panel (lwg),R2 (GAAM)
U- accessing reticulated water supplies
C- headpiece, operating handles, spindle, 65mm storz coupling/blank cap, top boss, shipping handlef, 65mm alloy barrel, male thread, wingnut, washer ,cup valve
O-Remove hydrant cover, washer check, wing nuts down, cup valve up
- stand the standpipe , turn handles clockwise to ship
-turn spindle to flush, turn all the way clockwise then back half a turn (for gaam, rotate 3 turns clockwise)
M- check washers are present, wipe with a damp cloth. check body for damage
S- PPE (gloves/helmet), dont lean over standpipe
Rabbit tool - wucoms
W- Rabbit tool NS center
U- forcible entry
C- hydraulic hand pump manually operated
-small ram with stainless steel jaws- 4 tonne capacity
-1.8m rubber coated high pressure hose
- Connect high pressure hose between hydraulic pump and ram
-insert rabbit tool jaws between door and door jam
-turn pump relieve valve on-clockwise
-pump hydraulic handle continuously
-turn pump relieve valve off-anti clockwise
M-check for oil/leaks, clean thorougly
S- 2 person operation
Don PPE
-DOnt allow hose to kink, be aware if door springing open
Wucoms- Hooligan tool
W- Hooligan Tool (NS center)
U-Forced entry, puncture , pry twist metals
C- forged steel, adze/pike end/claw end
O-adze- forcing doors and windows utilizing mechanical advantage, claw- prying leverage, pike, forcing/securing locks or latches
M-Clean with a damp cloth, check for burrs
S- Wear PPE and PPC. Work in a clear space, maintain firm grip at all times. clear commands
Angle grinder- WUCOMS
W- ANgle grinder- NS center
U- Cutting through locks and chains- allowing access into structures
C- durable metal housing, gearing system, guards, flanges and anti vibration handle
O-Connect battery pack to bottom of tool, push lock off switch forward then depress paddle switch. Allow angle grinder to run to operating speed before cutting
Hold against cuuting surface with minimal pressure. Two hand operation. release paddle switch to stop
M- Remove battery. Discard damaged discs. Inspect and clean all components where necessary after use. Keep ventilation slots clear
S- Don PPE
2 hand operation, dont overload tool.

Combo Axe- WUCOMS
W- Combination Axe NS centre
U- Pounding, chopping and forcible entry
C-Fiberglass handle, rubber grip, heat treated steel head. Flat end = pounding, axe face- chopping
O-Strike surface evenly, avoid glancing blows, use striking commands
M-Clean with a damp cloth, inspect handle for cracks, check blade is sharp and head is secured to handle
S- Ensure adequate clear space
PPC/PPE eye protection and gloves
Cordless impact driver- WUCOMS
W- Cordless impact driver NS centre
U-Inserts and removes screws
C- Plastic and metal with removable battery pack
O- Remove battery by pushing buttons and sliding out. Insert by doing the opposite..
Insert driver into chuck, pull chuck to release driver bit. Use control switch to change direction. Pull trigger to operate
M-Visually check for damage. Wipe with a damp cloth. Clean dust and debris from charger/tool vent
S-Always wear proper PPc (eye protection)
Remove battery pack before removing accessories, dont use flammable solvents around tools
Cordless drill
WUCOMS- Cordless drill NS center
U- to drill holes/ remove tek screws
C- Plastic/metal body with rechargable/removable battery
O- Insert battery, insert drillbit into chuck, flick plastic switch to change drill direction. Pull trigger to operate, trigger is sensitive to vary speeds
M- wipe with damp cloth, make sure vents are clear from dust/debris, check for damage, remove battery prior to cleaning
S- Use PPE (safety glasses) don’t use flammable solvents around it
