Slide 11 Flashcards
What are workforce implementation tools?
Workforce implementation tools are action planning frameworks used
to implement workforce strategies selected at the design stage in order
to achieve the outputs of the workforce plan
What are the benefits of implementation tools?
- helps to make the workforce plan “SMART”
- It assists in effective control of the workforce plan
- it aids in effective supervision of the implementation process
- makes operation staff understand the implementation process
- assist in performance measures during the implementation process
- fosters team working
- makes employees accountable in the implementation
What are 4 implementation tools?
- Action plan
- Work breakdown structure
- Gnatt Chart
- Network Analysis
What are action plans?
An action plan is the carefully spelt out steps or actions
which is needed or done in order to reach a particular goal in the
implementation.
What are the characteristics of the action plan?
1.Duties are specified on what an individual is supposed to do
2.Processes and procedures that must be taken in fulfilling
responsibilities are clearly spelt out
- Specifies resources which are needed to accomplish tasks
- Assigning roles; this state who is playing a specific role and duties.
5.It also states all the needed steps to attain the ideas that the action
plan must help or the places where the action plan is needed
6.States a time limit for which a step must be finished and when the
action plan needs to be carried out.
- States the resources needs to carry out a step and how much it will
cost to carry out these actions
8.It also outlines what must be delivered in the right measure. This is
supposed to result in the finishing of the steps. It must state the
measure of steps to make sure that the steps are working as intended by
the action plan and also determine the expected outcome of the plans.
What is a work breakdown structure?
It describes or explains how work concerning workforce planning is being broken down into various units of activities which explain in detail.
What is a Gnatt chart?
This is a simple plan for carrying out a workforce plan that is based on a bar line chart. It shows the connections in activity and its preceding activity which need to be finished before the start of another, or both
must start concurrently.
What is network analysis?
This describes the procedures of activities and the length of time it will take to perform that activity. It ensures that the critical path is known. Therefore, it is often called the critical path analysis. This critical path
determines the duration a project is supposed to take before its
completion
