A

Synaptic shrinkage. Makes room for new connections the following day. Loose unnecessary/insignificant memories.
Machinery repair, energy replenishment, memory consolidation

A

Polysomnogam. Measures brain electrical activity, eye and jaw muscle movement, airflow, respiratory effort, EKG, oxygen saturation

What are the three types of sleep symptoms?

A

Insomnia,excessive daytime sleepiness and parasomnias.

What are the symptoms of insomnias?

A

Tired but wired.
Can be primary (only an insominia) or secondary (caused by other issues).
Over thinkers and control freaks are prone to insomnia.
Minfulness training to treat.

What are the symptoms of excessive daytimesleepiness and give some examples?

A

Difficulty maintaining desired wakefulness
Falling asleep at inappropriate times,
Excessive amount of sleep.
Sleep apnoea, idiopathic hypersomnia, circadian rhythm disorder, narcolepsy
