Why was slavery abolished?

A

Slavery was abolished in Britain 1807 because of many varying reasons like religious reasons, Evangelism and increasing revolts (Haitian revolts) which created in death and scared plantation owners. Many political members of Parliament, eg. William Wilberforce introduced bills into Parliament to end slavery.
