Very common skin immune reaction from a medication or infection.
Erythema Multiforme
Iris lesions, bullseye look typically on the palms. Appear with annular lesions with a pink halo.
Target lesions
A line-like pattern that people can get by touching animal feces. Affects cats and dogs.
Parasitic hookworm
Along the nerve track. Unilateral or bilateral on the chest, neck, face, flank, or hip region.
Zosteriform (Shingles)
A type of herpes
Macule, papule, patch, plaque, nodule, wheal, tumor, urticaria, vesicle, cyst, bulla, pustule
Primary Skin Lesions
Flat, circumscribed lesion of the skin or mucous membrane that is 1 cm or less in diameter.
Macule
Solid, elevated, circumscribed, superficial lesion 1 cm or less in diameter.
Papule
Solid skin elevation that extends into the dermal layer and is 1-2 cm in diameter.
Nodule
Elevated, solid, transient, edematous lesion that is often red and hot, like hives. Allergic reaction.
Wheal
Epidermal elevations of the skin with clear fluid. Acne, blisters
Vesicle (small, < 1 cm) and Bulla (big, > 1 cm)
Closed sac that contains liquid or semisolid fluid in the tissue. Can get infected by MRSA.
Cyst
How do you treat a cyst to prevent infection?
Cut it open and drain it.
Small elevation of the skin with purulent exudate (pus) that may be white, yellow, or greenish-yellow in color. Acne or sebaceous cyst.
Pustule
The cause for flaky, snow-like skin with removing compression socks?
Venous stasis. Needs lotion to prevent cellulitis.
