What is a purpose of wet-to-dry dressing

To provide medical debridement

How is a wet-to-dry dressing done?
A
Dressings are first soaked before putting it on wound. The dressing is then allowed to dry, so when its time to remove the debride can also come off too.

Cleaning the wound with sterile normal saline

- obtaining a culture from an old drainage.
- obtaining a culture without first cleaning it with sterile normal saline (having residual skin flora can make the culture inaccurate)

Levine method (rotating swab while putting adequate pressure for fluid)
