Put on clean gloves before handling bedpan

Pour the contents of the bedpan into measuring container without spilling or splashing urine outside of container

Rinse bedpan and pour rinse into toilet

Measure the amount of urine at eye level with container on flat surface (if between measurement lines, round up to nearest 25 ml/cc)

After measuring urine, empty contents of measuring container into toilet

Rinse measuring container and pour rinse into toilet

Before recording output, remove and dispose of gloves (without contaminating self) into waster container and wash hands
