Q

What are the strengths of using field sketches?

A

Show location of the enquiry
Can compare different sites > show differences linking to initial question
Can identify key geographical features quickly and refer back to it
Clear/visual presentation of sites
Reality/immediate at time of data collection > particularly useful if the site is changing

Q

What are the implications of anomalies?

A

Gives data that doesn’t fit with the rest of the pattern/irregular data > inaccurate results > impact on conclusions drawn
Can be difficult to identify in the raw data > so data collection methods aren’t changed/improved > may only become apparent in the results.
May show the need to investigate further > so more data is collected.

Q

What are the weaknesses of using word clouds?

A

Doesn’t display numbers > do not know how many people were asked (could be a small sample size).
Lack of context > who was asked/when where they asked so data may be biased (not reflect the general population).
