What are the functions of the skeletal system
To support your body

Cartilage
Acts as a shock absorber

Joint
Joints are where two bones meet
Fused joint
Do not allow bone stop move
Appear as if they are stitched together
E.G. skull
Synovial joints
Allow bones to move

Ligaments
Elastic fibres hold the bones together
Tendons
Anchor muscle to bone
Antagonistic pair
Muscles can only contract (gets shorter)
The biceps contracts to pull the lower arm. The triceps contracts to pull the arm down.
