degenerative condition where navicular bone, navicular bursa, deep digital flexor tendon, and/or supporting ligaments of navicular bone inflammed/sore

mild lameness; short, choppy strides (toe first); heels more contracted
Predispositions to Navicular Syndrome (5)
small feet, narrow heels, upright pasterns, long toe, low heels
Treatment for Navicular Syndrome
shoeing/medication

arthritis of pastern joint &/or coffin joint; new bone grows around either joint due to DJD

firm swelling ~ 1” above coronoet band
