What is Axial skeleton?
The axial skeleton is made up 80 within the central core is your body, includes bones in your head, neck, back, and chest. Your axial skeleton protects and cushion your brain, spinal cord, and organs.
What is the appendicular skeleton?
The appendicular skeleton comprises (consist of) the upper and lower extremities (a limb of the body). The arms, shoulders, hands, and legs are parts of the appendicular.
What is Cranium?
Cranium is what forms the head.
What is humerus?
The upper arm
What is petella?
Kneecap
What is ribs?
The ribs are connected to the thoracic cavity.
What is hyoid?
The hyoid bone is an U-shaped in the middle of the neck, where it’s connected to cervical vertebra.
What is metacarpals?
The metacarpals, also known as the palm bones between the phalanges (fingers) and the carpal (wrist bones).
What is phalanges?
The bones of the fingers and toes.
What is tarsals?
Tarsals are where your ankle and heel meets, the place next to your ankle.
What is fibula?
Fibula is a long, smaller bone on the outer side of the leg/tibia.
What is tibia?
Tibia is the larger and stronger bone on the inside of the leg
What is femur?
Femur is the thigh bone.
What is ulna?
Ulna is the lower arm bone on your pinkie fingers side.
What is radius?
Radius is the lower bone on your thumb side.
List the vertebral column in a row and explain what it is.
-There are 7 cervical bone that’s connected to the neck
-There are 12 thoracic vertebrae that’s connected to the ribs
-There are 5 lumber vertebrae that’s connected to the lower back
- There are 5 sacrum that’s connected to the pelvis.
-The coccyx is the last bone that connects to tailbone.
What is Epiphyseal line?
Epiphyseal line is also called, growth plates that serves as a growth area for long bone lengthening.
What is diaphysis?
Diaphysis is the midsection of a long bone.
What is red bone marrow?
Red marrow is inside of the spongy bone to keep the flat bones lighten.
What is ilium?
The widest and largest part of the three parts of the hip, the top part of the hip.
What is sternum?
The sternum is the flats vertical bone at the center of your chest.
What is scapula?
Scapula is known as the shoulder blades, that connects to clavicle to the humerus (upper arm).
What is clavicle?
Clavicle is one of the bones at the base of the front of the neck.
What is lumbar?
The lumber is the lower back of the spine, above the hips.
